Expanding Our Possibilities Getting closer with our own community space

For 40 years, Liberian Community Association of Rhode Island (LCARI) has been dedicated to strengthening our community through coordinating initiatives and building collaborations among service providers, businesses, members, and the Rhode Island’s community at large. To date, we are the largest collaborative network serving the complex needs of the growing Liberian population within Rhodes Island.

LCARI has never had its own building space to host community meetings, hold events, or organize programs. While this has been managed on an ad-hoc basis, in churches and members’ homes, it is unsustainable and logistically quite challenging. As the needs of our community continue to grow and evolve, we recognize that our own facility is necessary to help us provide quality programs and services to more Liberians and other Africans throughout Rhode Island. We are currently in the process of purchasing a building to house our broad range of services to the community, such as before- and after-school programs, a youth empowerment center, elderly center, adult literacy, humanitarian hall and a museum and culture center.

The goal of the campaign is to raise $200,000 for a 6,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility that can meet the current and future needs of the community.

We created this campaign for everyone to contribute at various impact levels. Be sure to review the ways you can make an impact and please share this page with your family and friends.
